Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor has apologised for a verbal slip during a Dussehra speech. The team of his upcoming film Ramayana attended a Dussehra celebration in Kolkata, West Bengal, on October 20. During the event, Ranbir intended to convey that truth and goodness ultimately triumph over evil, regardless of how powerful it may be. However, he misspoke, making his statement sound as though truth and goodness would eventually be destroyed. Clips of his speech went viral on social media, drawing criticism from some viewers while others reacted humorously.
Ranbir addressed the incident at a musical event held in Chennai as part of the promotional activities for Ramayana. He acknowledged that he had stumbled over his words during the Dussehra speech and clarified that his intended message had been misunderstood. He reiterated that he wanted to convey the idea that truth and goodness ultimately prevail over evil. The actor apologised for the confusion caused by his statement. He also referred to lines from a song in his earlier film Rockstar during his response.
