Advance bookings for Namit Malhotra’s ambitious mythological epic Ramayana initially opened in North India, while tickets were not available for sale in South Indian markets. As bookings remained unavailable in the Telugu states, some moviegoers expected that ticket prices might be increased for the much-anticipated film. However, advance bookings have now begun to open in the Nizam region at existing prices, including 3D charges, without any reported hike.
Prasads Multiplex, Allu Cinemas and AMB Cinemas have started accepting bookings for both the Telugu and Hindi versions of Ramayana at regular ticket prices. More theatres in the region are expected to open bookings soon. As the film is being presented in 3D, these shows are expected to receive the highest priority in terms of screenings. The key point to watch now is how theatres distribute their screens between the Telugu and Hindi versions and which version receives more shows.
