

SS Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu’s much-awaited global adventure film Varanasi is generating strong curiosity with its grand scale, mythology and visual elements. In a recent interview with French media, Rajamouli shared an important emotional detail about the story and revealed that emotion forms a strong foundation for the film.
According to Rajamouli, the emotional core of Varanasi revolves around the powerful and sacred bond between a father and his son. This relationship is expected to play a key role in driving the adventure, action and mythology-based narrative. Mahesh Babu is said to be playing Rudra, a powerful time-travelling archaeologist, while Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Prithviraj Sukumaran are part of the lead cast. Prakash Raj is reportedly set to appear as Mahesh Babu’s father and a devoted follower of Lord Shiva. The film is scheduled for a worldwide release on April 7, 2027, reportedly across around 50 languages.
