The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has issued a strong warning to filmmaker SS Rajamouli, stating that they will “stop his films” if he does not apologise for his recent comments on Lord Hanuman. VHP leader Tanikeella Satya Kumar questioned Rajamouli, asking whether he failed to recognise Rama and Hanuman as deities. He called the comments “an act against dharma” and accused the director of speaking with arrogance.
VHP leaders claimed that sentiments of Hindu devotees were hurt and stressed that any remarks made lightly about revered deities would not be tolerated. They urged Rajamouli to withdraw his comments and issue a public apology immediately.
Several BJP leaders have already condemned Rajamouli’s statements, adding further political pressure. The controversy continues to grow as social and religious organisations demand accountability from the filmmaker.
