Young actress Payal Radhakrishna is gearing up for the release of Happy Journey, directed by Abhiram Naidu. The film features Annapurnamma, Aamani, anchor Jhansi, Jineesha Alishetty, Roopa Srinivas and Sunaina in key roles. Set against the backdrop of a Europe trip undertaken by seven women, the movie explores their emotions, relationships and personal journeys. The film has completed its production and is scheduled to release in theatres on September 18.
Speaking at a recent press meet, Payal said audiences should not assume from the posters that Happy Journey is simply a story about women travelling together. She explained that as the story progresses toward its climax, the importance of men in the women’s lives becomes evident. Payal also said feminism should not be misunderstood as opposition to men. She highlighted the importance of men in different relationships, including as fathers, brothers, sons and partners, and recalled the support and responsible behaviour of the male directors and producers on the film’s sets. She urged audiences who may find it difficult to express their love for their fathers or brothers to watch the film with their families.
