New Political Party From Ajith?

Fans of actor Ajith Kumar have launched a new political party named Tamilaga Makkal Kazhagam in Tamil Nadu. The party was launched at Elavanasurukottai near Ulundurpet in Kallakurichi district, with fan-club leaders and supporters from 38 districts taking part in the event. The organisers also unveiled the party flag, featuring yellow, white and red colours with two leopards at the centre. Abeeth has been appointed state president, while Ramkumar and Mohammed Shah have been named secretary and treasurer respectively.

The organisers said the state general secretary post has been kept vacant for Ajith in case he decides to enter politics. However, there is no indication that Ajith himself launched or endorsed the party. In a 2019 statement, Ajith had categorically said that he had no intention of entering politics, directly or indirectly, and requested that his name or photograph not be associated with any political party or organisation. The latest development has therefore drawn attention to how Ajith may respond to the initiative launched by his fans.
