Mohan Babu Says Srikanth Odela ‘Cheated’ Him Over Wife’s Role in The Paradise

Nani-starrer The Paradise, directed by Srikanth Odela, is currently running in theatres. Veteran actor Mohan Babu plays the antagonist Shikanja Malik in the film. During a recent interview with Nani and Srikanth Odela, Mohan Babu humorously recalled how the director had initially told him that his character would have a wife and that several scenes would revolve around the two characters.

Mohan Babu said that when Srikanth came to narrate the story, he explained the wife’s character and the scenes involving them. He even suggested casting a new actress instead of an established heroine, and Srikanth reportedly agreed with the idea. However, after a shooting schedule was completed, Mohan Babu noticed that none of the scenes involving his character’s wife had been filmed. When he questioned the director, Srikanth revealed that the earlier scenes had been changed and that the wife’s character was no longer part of the film. Mohan Babu jokingly said that Srikanth had “cheated” him, leaving both Nani and the director in splits. The film marks the second collaboration between Nani and Srikanth Odela after Dasara.
