

Music composer M.M. Keeravani has shared a significant update on Varanasi, the much-awaited magnum opus directed by S.S. Rajamouli and starring Mahesh Babu. He revealed that work on the film’s background score will begin in September and is expected to be completed by January. The announcement indicates that the film remains on track for its planned release without any changes to its schedule.
The makers are aiming to retain the announced theatrical release date of April 7, 2027, while production continues at a brisk pace. Mahesh Babu will reportedly be seen in dual roles as Rudra and Lord Rama, while Priyanka plays Mandakini. Produced by K.L. Narayana and S.S. Karthikeya on a massive budget of around ₹1,300 crore, the film features a story by Vijayendra Prasad and dialogues by Deva Katta. Following the overwhelming response to the teaser, Keeravani’s latest update has further heightened expectations among fans.
