Kayadu Lohar Recalls Her Struggles Before Entering Films

Kayadu Lohar, who entered the film industry without a family background in cinema, has gradually established herself as a promising actress in South Indian films. The Assamese beauty, who began her journey with modelling, is now set to appear as Subbalakshmi in Natural Star Nani’s upcoming pan-India film ‘The Paradise’, directed by Srikanth Odela. In a recent interview, Kayadu opened up about the financial struggles she faced and the jobs she took up before becoming an actress.

Born and raised in Pune, Kayadu said she was more interested in theatre, stage performances and dance than academics while growing up. Coming from a middle-class family, she worked at a coffee shop serving tea and later as a salesgirl at a clothing store to support her family. She also worked at an IT company but eventually quit after finding the work pressure difficult to handle, recalling that she once broke down in tears at the office. She then pursued modelling and entered films, making her Telugu debut alongside Sree Vishnu in ‘Alluri’ (2022). Her career gained momentum with the success of the Tamil film ‘Dragon’ (2025), followed by projects such as ‘Funki’ and ‘Palli Chattambi’. She is now gearing up for a wider audience with Nani’s ‘The Paradise’.
