The actress stated that she always looks for meaningful and diverse roles that leave a strong impact on audiences. She recalled portraying several different characters in Tamil cinema, including a teacher, lawyer, district collector, and homemaker.

After taking a break from films following her marriage, Jyothika made a successful comeback and is now active in Tamil, Hindi, and Malayalam cinema. She said she is willing to wait even for two years if necessary to find a powerful role, adding that appearing on screen is less important than portraying memorable characters that stay with audiences.
