

Legendary music director and singer Ghantasala, whose voice touched millions, is being honored through the biographical film “Ghantasala The Great”, directed by C.H. Rama Rao. Produced by Smt. C.H. Phani under the Anyukth Ram Pictures banner, the film presents Ghantasala’s life and musical journey in a heartfelt manner. Singer Krishna Chaitanya plays the role of Ghantasala, while Suman appears in an important role. The film is set for a grand theatrical release on January 2. As part of its promotions, Swaravahini and Sri Bharati Music Academy jointly organized the “Ghantasala The Great Special Musical Night”, celebrating the timeless legacy of the legendary singer.
Speaking at the event, director C.H. Rama Rao said that while Ghantasala’s songs need no introduction, the film was made to highlight his personality and life beyond music. He recalled how poet Sri Sri was deeply moved after hearing his own lyrics sung by Ghantasala, praising the singer’s greatness. Rama Rao thanked Shobha Rani for coming forward to release the film and shared that the movie has already been screened in Australia. Producers C. Kalyan, Shobha Rani and T.S. Rao expressed strong confidence that the film would achieve great success, calling it a bold and meaningful effort that every Telugu person should watch. Shobha Rani, who has released nearly 76 films, said this project is very special to her and assured a grand release.
Several well-known personalities including Vakulabharanam Krishna Mohan, director Samudra, lyricist Vennigala Rambabu, music director Ravi Shankar, producer Karri Balaji and director Mallikarjun praised Ghantasala’s unmatched contribution to Telugu cinema and music. They said his voice will live on forever and that this film reflects the pride of Telugu culture, language and music. A special celebrity preview of the film was attended by Raghu Kunche, Kousalya, Vijayalakshmi and others, who described the movie as inspiring and a must-watch for all Telugu audiences. They emphasized that the film beautifully presents Ghantasala’s life and personality and deserves widespread appreciation.
