Once hailed as Tollywood's ultimate mass hero, Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja is currently going through a difficult time in his career. The actor's most recent films, including Ravanasura, Tiger Nageswara Rao, Eagle, and Mr. Bachchan, have all underperformed at the box office after consecutive hits with Dhamaka and Waltair Veerayya. Unfortunately, the string of letdowns has continued with his most recent release, Mass Jathara, which sought to restore his vintage mass appeal.
Mass Jathara opened to unimpressive reviews and collections, despite several delays and a respectable amount of pre-release buzz. The formulaic execution, lack of originality, and predictable plot were criticized by both critics and viewers. With the exception of a few songs, action scenes, and Ravi Teja's signature enthusiasm, the movie didn't offer much new. India's first-day net collection of about ₹7 crores was below expectations, and the film's performance abroad was likewise poor, which was exacerbated by the simultaneous release of Baahubali: The Epic.
Ravi Teja is at a crossroads because this is probably going to be his fifth straight failure in the last two years. Instead of depending only on his mass image, industry analysts advise him to reevaluate his script choices and adjust to shifting audience preferences. Kishore Tirumala's upcoming film, Bhakta Mahaseyalaku Vignapthi, which is scheduled for release in Sankranti, is seen as a pivotal chance for him to make a powerful return and reclaim his position as one of Tollywood's biggest stars.
