‘Ramayana: Rise of a Legend’, starring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role, is generating significant buzz at the box office even before its release. Scheduled to hit theatres on November 5, the mythological drama is receiving a strong response to its advance bookings. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film also features Sai Pallavi and Yash in pivotal roles. Produced by Namit Malhotra, the ambitious project is reportedly aiming for a record-breaking opening. Its advance sales have already crossed a gross of Rs. 35 crore, with Karnataka emerging as a major contributor, reportedly driven by Yash’s popularity in the state.
Meanwhile, attention has turned to the pre-sales record set by Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar 2’. The film reportedly collected Rs. 47.90 crore through paid previews and Rs. 40.30 crore through first-day advance bookings, taking its total pre-sales to Rs. 88.20 crore. However, since ‘Ramayana’ does not have paid previews, directly comparing the overall pre-sales figures may not be appropriate. Reports suggest that the film needs another Rs. 5 crore in first-day advance bookings to surpass ‘Dhurandhar 2’s’ record in that category. Whether it can achieve the milestone before its release remains to be seen.
