The upcoming Hindi film Dronacharya is gaining attention as one of the latest AI-driven projects in Indian cinema. Presented by Vibhu Agarwal and Kanhiya Mittal and produced by Bharat NextGen Digital Pvt Ltd, the film is scheduled for a theatrical release in June 2026. The recently released trailer showcases a technologically enhanced retelling of the legendary guru, who is described as someone who “didn’t just train warriors, but created legends.”
While the concept has generated curiosity, it has also sparked debate within the film industry. Critics and cinema lovers are expressing concern over the growing dependence on AI in storytelling, especially in mythological films where emotional depth plays a key role. Experts feel that although AI can enhance visuals and production quality, overuse may affect the emotional connection of narratives. Similar concerns have also emerged after a glimpse from a South Indian franchise film faced backlash for its heavy AI usage.
