Veteran Telugu actor Rajendra Prasad has issued a public apology after his remarks about legendary Tamil actor and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.G. Ramachandran (MGR) sparked controversy. The comments were made during a recent event where Rajendra Prasad received the Kantha Rao Award. While praising legendary Telugu actor Kantha Rao, he made a statement implying that MGR used to feel intimidated by him, which drew criticism from members of the Tamil film industry.

In response, Rajendra Prasad released a video apology in Tamil, clarifying that the comment was made casually and without any intention to disrespect MGR. He said he has immense respect for the iconic leader and actor, adding that he was inspired by MGR during his days at the Madras Film Institute. Rajendra Prasad requested forgiveness from anyone who felt hurt and assured that he would be more careful with his words in the future.
