A traditional ancient dessert made with barley is known for its calming effects and is believed to help reduce mental stress and anxiety. This age-old recipe was commonly consumed during times of fatigue and weakness as a nourishing and energy-boosting dish.
To prepare it, barley is soaked for 4 hours and pressure-cooked until soft. Milk is boiled separately and mixed with cooked barley, followed by jaggery syrup. The mixture is simmered well and flavored with cardamom powder. Finally, fried cashews, raisins, and almonds in ghee are added to enhance taste and richness.
