Sankranti and summer seasons are always festive times for the Tollywood box office, with big star films usually releasing together. This time, a major clash was expected at the end of March, as Ram Charan’s much-awaited film Peddi and Nani’s The Paradise were rumored to hit theatres around the same time. The buzz created huge excitement, with many believing a direct box-office battle was inevitable. However, recent developments suggest that the clash may now be avoided.
According to trade reports, the shooting of The Paradise is only about halfway done, with nearly 50–60 days of work still pending. Along with that, post-production, background score, VFX work and large-scale pan-India promotions are expected to take considerable time. Because of this, a March release is said to be difficult. As a result, the makers are reportedly planning to shift the film to May or June 2026, with an official update expected soon. Directed by Dasara fame Srikanth Odela, the film is set in a 1980s backdrop and features Nani in a powerful role named Jadal, while Mohan Babu is said to be playing the antagonist.
On the other hand, Ram Charan’s Peddi is firmly on track. Directed by Buchibabu Sana of Uppena fame, this sports-based action drama is scheduled for a grand worldwide release on March 27, coinciding with Ram Charan’s birthday. The makers have officially confirmed the date, dismissing all delay rumors. The first look and songs have already raised expectations and A.R. Rahman’s music is seen as a major highlight. With The Paradise likely postponed, Peddi now enjoys a clear box-office window, giving it a strong advantage. Whether this situation can be called a sacrifice by Nani or simply a practical decision by the makers remains to be seen, but for now, all eyes in Tollywood are firmly on Peddi.
