Production of BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles, considered a major strength of India’s defence arsenal, has reportedly slowed down. Although final approval for manufacturing next generation BrahMos missiles at the Uttar Pradesh plant is still pending, senior staff from Hyderabad and Nagpur units have been transferred to Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan facilities. Reports suggest that employees have expressed dissatisfaction over the sudden transfers.
The transfer of experienced personnel has reportedly created shortages in critical areas such as missile assembly and systems integration, leading to lower production levels. With the Indian Navy already placing an order for 220 BrahMos missiles, any slowdown could delay deliveries. Experts warn that such setbacks may affect India’s defence preparedness and operational strength.
