They Are Enemies Like India - Pakistan Defence Minister

Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has triggered controversy with his remarks on the ongoing protests in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK). Referring to protesters opposing Islamabad's policies, he said he viewed them as "enemies like India" and defended the government's action against them. He also ruled out any possibility of talks with the demonstrators.

The protests, led by the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC), demand the abolition of reserved assembly seats for Kashmiri refugees, arguing that they undermine the political rights of PoK residents. Reports claim that 14 protesters were killed after security forces opened fire during the demonstrations, while Pakistan maintains that its forces responded after being attacked. India strongly criticized the developments, reiterating that PoK is an integral part of India and alleging that public anger stems from Pakistan's policies in the region.
