Telegram services have been restored across India after a temporary suspension imposed during the NEET re-examination. The Central Government had restricted access to the messaging platform until June 22 as a precautionary measure to prevent the circulation of leaked examination content and ensure the integrity of the examination process. Following the successful completion of the exam, authorities announced the resumption of Telegram services nationwide.
However, restrictions on Telegram’s message editing feature will remain in place until June 30. The government stated that the move is part of ongoing efforts to curb malpractice and prevent the misuse of digital platforms for exam-related fraud. According to the National Testing Agency (NTA), more than 2 million students appeared for the NEET re-examination across the country. In the Telugu states alone, nearly 365,000 candidates took the test. Except for a few instances where late-arriving students were denied entry to examination centres, the exam concluded peacefully.
