Telangana Government Declares Holiday in Hyderabad on the Occasion of Ganesh Immersion

The Telangana government has declared a general holiday on September 25 on account of the Vinayaka idol immersion procession. The holiday will apply to government offices, schools and colleges in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, as well as in Rangareddy and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts. The government has issued orders to this effect.

In lieu of the holiday declared on September 25, November 14 will be observed as a working day in the affected areas. Although November 14 falls on the second Saturday, government offices, schools and colleges covered by the order will function on that day. The decision comes ahead of the major Ganesh immersion procession scheduled in Hyderabad on September 25.
