Telangana Government Continues Coordination to Assist Nepal Flood Victims

The Telangana government is closely monitoring the situation caused by floods in Nepal and surrounding areas and continuing relief coordination through the Telangana Bhavan helpline and coordination centre in New Delhi, along with the Telangana Secretariat helpline in Hyderabad. Around 80–100 calls seeking information and assistance have been received from family members and others. After preliminary verification, 20 cases involving 23 people were identified for further action. Of them, six are from Telangana and 17 are NRIs with Telangana roots. A person from Rangareddy district who had travelled for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra has now been confirmed safe.

Authorities are continuing to follow up on the whereabouts and well-being of the remaining 22 people. Several of those concerned were travelling through the Nepal-Tibet region, with their last known locations including Rasuwa, Rasuwagadhi and Gyirong. Following Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s directions, Telangana Bhavan officials are coordinating with the Telangana Secretariat, the Ministry of External Affairs, the Indian Embassy and other relevant authorities. Information received from families, travel operators and official sources is being verified regularly, while efforts continue to trace the individuals and provide necessary assistance.
