Serial Killer Arrested in Woman’s Disguise

Brazilian police have arrested 33-year-old Jorlan Lopes da Silva in the state of Paraíba. Authorities say he is being investigated in connection with 16 murders committed over the past three months. Investigators said he had been hiding in remote forest areas and using makeshift camps to evade capture. Locals reportedly nicknamed him “Mosquito” because of his frail build. After a search operation lasting around two days, police arrested him in the Mulungu area. At the time of his arrest, he was wearing women’s clothing and a wig and was carrying a young child. Authorities said the child was not related to him.

During questioning, Da Silva reportedly told police that he committed his first murder at the age of 13. He also claimed to have killed around 80 people over his lifetime, but authorities have not officially confirmed that figure. Police have so far linked him to 16 killings and are continuing to investigate his alleged involvement in other crimes. Da Silva claimed that he targeted only criminals, but investigators said there is no evidence to support that claim as a general explanation for the killings. Authorities are also examining his possible links to criminal organisations and investigating the circumstances surrounding the child who was with him when he was arrested.
