The NIA Special Court in Hyderabad has delivered a key verdict in a 2019 human trafficking case. The case came to light in the Pahadishareef area, where a trafficking network was allegedly involved in bringing women from Bangladesh into India on the promise of jobs and better wages and subsequently forcing them into prostitution. The NIA took over the investigation after the case was initially registered by the local police in 2019.
After examining the evidence and hearing the arguments, the court found the accused guilty and sentenced nine of them to life imprisonment, according to the details provided. NIA records show that the Pahadishareef case was registered in September 2019 and subsequently re-registered by the agency for further investigation.
