Telegram CEO Pavel Durov has reportedly criticized the decision to restrict the messaging platform in connection with recent exam paper leak controversies. He argued that instead of identifying and taking action against the individuals responsible for leaking confidential examination materials, authorities chose measures that affected millions of ordinary users who rely on the platform for communication and information sharing.
Durov further stated that banning or restricting a digital platform does not necessarily eliminate illegal activities, as such actions can easily shift to alternative services. According to his remarks, the focus should be on addressing the root cause of the problem and bringing the actual offenders to justice rather than imposing broad restrictions that impact a large user base.
