NHRC Issues Notices Over Kurnool Accident

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has issued a notice to the Kurnool District Superintendent of Police over the tragic bus accident that claimed more than 24 lives on October 24, 2025. The Commission has directed the district police to conduct a comprehensive inquiry into the incident and submit a detailed report within four weeks.

The action follows a complaint filed by Tamil Nadu Yuvashakti President Kethireddy Jagadeeshwar Reddy. Taking serious note of the complaint, the NHRC has sought details regarding the circumstances that led to the accident, accountability, and any lapses in safety measures. The Commission's directions aim to ensure a thorough investigation into the tragic incident.
