Nandyal Collector Warns Farmers Amid Water Scarcity

Nandyal District Collector G. Raj Kumari Ganiya stated that the water being released through the Pothireddypadu Head Regulator should be used only for drinking water needs. She clarified that the released water is being stored in Velugodu, Gorukallu, and Avuku reservoirs to meet drinking water requirements.

The Collector urged farmers not to cultivate paddy during the current Kharif season due to limited water availability. She advised them to focus on alternative crops such as black gram, red gram, green gram, foxtail millet, castor, and soybean. Farmers were also advised to plan cultivation based on agricultural department guidance and use water resources efficiently.
