'Ramayana Deserves an Oscar': Devendra Fadnavis

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has heaped praise on director Nitesh Tiwari's ambitious film Ramayana, stating that he would be disappointed if the epic does not win an Academy Award. Speaking at the inauguration of Prime Focus Studios, Fadnavis described the project as much more than a film, calling it a timeless cinematic masterpiece that could be remembered for generations. He expressed confidence that the two-part epic would take Indian cinema to unprecedented heights on the global stage.

Recalling his earlier visit to the film's sets along with the Prime Minister, Fadnavis said he was deeply impressed by the scale, production quality and technological excellence of the project. He noted that combining India's rich cultural heritage with cutting-edge filmmaking technology is the ideal way to introduce timeless stories to younger generations. Starring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role, Ramayana is scheduled to release on November 6, while the makers have confirmed that nearly 50 percent of the second installment has already been completed.
