Floodwaters from the upper catchment areas of the Krishna River are continuing to flow into the Srisailam reservoir. Around 79,403 cusecs of inflow from the Jurala project is reaching Srisailam. As of Thursday 6 AM, the water level at Srisailam stood at 824.80 feet, with total storage recorded at 44.6090 TMC. However, power generation at both the right and left bank hydel power stations has not yet commenced.
Meanwhile, rising inflows are being observed at the Jurala reservoir due to continuous water releases from the Almatti and Narayanpur projects in Karnataka over the past three days. The inflow at Jurala reached nearly 80,000 cusecs on Thursday morning. About 47,000 cusecs are being released downstream for hydropower generation, while 10 gates have been lifted to discharge water towards Srisailam. The full reservoir capacity of Jurala stands at 9.66 TMC.
