Punjab has secured the top position in the NITI Aayog School Education Quality Report, surpassing traditionally strong-performing states such as Kerala and Maharashtra. The ranking highlights significant improvements in learning outcomes, infrastructure, and overall school education quality.
According to the report, Punjab recorded 82% proficiency in Class III language skills and 78% in mathematics. The state also showed strong digital progress with 80% smart classrooms and internet access in 88.9% of schools. From ranking 22nd in 2016–17 and 27th in 2020, Punjab has shown a remarkable turnaround.
