BRS Legislative Party Deputy Leader T. Harish Rao has demanded that the Congress government immediately procure crops at Minimum Support Price as promised. In a public letter to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, he alleged that the Congress “Rythu Declaration” has turned out to be a failure and accused the government of delaying procurement despite paddy arriving in large quantities at procurement centres. He also alleged irregular deductions at rice mills and demanded an immediate ₹500 bonus per quintal for fine paddy along with procurement payments. He warned that BRS will launch a strong agitation if the government fails to act.
Separately, Harish Rao also filed a writ petition in the High Court over alleged failure of farm loan waiver implementation. According to his office, out of 43,363 eligible farmers in Siddipet constituency, only 20,514 received loan waiver benefits, leaving 22,849 farmers uncovered. He claimed that despite repeated appeals to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, no corrective action was taken.
