Government Stands by Families Affected by Adilabad RIMS Fire

The Telangana government has decided to provide an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of children who died in the fire accident at RIMS, Adilabad. Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha said the compensation would be provided as per the directions of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. The minister reviewed the health condition of children undergoing treatment at various hospitals in Adilabad and directed officials to shift them to major hospitals in Hyderabad for advanced treatment if necessary.

Narasimha also announced that construction of a 150-bed Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Centre at RIMS, Adilabad, would be taken up on a war footing. He said the centre would be equipped with advanced medical facilities and made operational at the earliest. Authorities are also reviewing hospital safety measures and infrastructure in the wake of the fire incident.
