Good News for Immigrants in the US

Democratic Senator Alex Padilla has reintroduced a bill in the U.S. Senate proposing green cards for immigrants who have lived continuously in the United States for at least seven years. The legislation, titled the "Renewing Immigration Provisions of the Immigration Act of 1929," aims to provide a pathway to permanent residency for long term immigrants.

Padilla said the U.S. immigration system needs a more humane approach. He stated that he first introduced the bill a year ago in response to what he described as harsh immigration policies under former President Donald Trump's administration, adding that enforcement actions against immigrants have intensified since then.
