The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) has issued a fresh flood advisory as the Godavari River continues to witness heavy inflows. The water level at Bhadrachalam has reached 55.1 feet, with the third danger warning remaining in effect. Water levels stood at 19.20 metres at Kunavaram and 11.96 metres at Polavaram, while Dowleswaram Cotton Barrage recorded an inflow and outflow of 836,315 cusecs.
Officials said the inflow at Dowleswaram is expected to cross one million cusecs shortly, prompting the first danger warning, while the second danger warning may be issued later if inflows reach 1.3 million cusecs. Flood discharge could rise to nearly 1.5 million cusecs. Authorities have urged residents living along the Godavari basin to remain vigilant, follow official advisories, and extend full cooperation to emergency and rescue operations.
