Future City Roads to Get a Major Connectivity Boost

The Telangana government is planning a major road infrastructure push in the Future City region to reduce internal traffic congestion and improve high-speed connectivity. The Future City Development Authority (FCDA) has sanctioned Rs 140 crore for the development of link roads and the expansion of culverts. The projects are aimed at improving connections between Bengaluru National Highway-844, Srisailam National Highway-765 and the Nagarjuna Sagar Road, while also linking several major villages and developing areas.

The planned works include multiple link roads connecting Meer Khanpet Junction, Medapalli, Malkijguda, Nandivanaparthi, Yacharam, Nanaknagar, Pillipalli, Tadiparthi, Kurmidda, Rachaluru, Thimmapur and Konalguda. Additional funds will be used to connect link roads with major gram panchayats. FCDA has set a target of completing these projects within 18 months. The government is also developing the 41.5-km, six-lane, 100-metre-wide Ratan Tata Greenfield Road from ORR Exit-13 through Future City to Akutotapalli in Amangal mandal. Signal-free junctions are also being planned in industrial, IT and residential zones to improve access to national and state highways.
