Food Safety Crackdown on Hyderabad Restaurants

Food safety officials conducted a special inspection drive across Madhapur, Hitec City and Gachibowli in Hyderabad. On September 26, ten enforcement teams inspected 20 hotels and restaurants and reported violations including cockroach and rodent infestations, rat faeces, expired food items, spoiled vegetables, unhygienic kitchens and improper food storage. Officials also collected 21 food samples on suspicion of adulteration.

The establishments named in the action include Monastery, Shivani The Restaurant and Bar, Al Saba Restaurant, Lucky Multicuisine Restaurant, Sai Ram Mess, Udupi’s Upahar, Coal Spark Multi Cuisine Restaurant, Kanchi Cafe, AnTeRa Kitchen and Bar, Am Aha Telugu Kitchen and Bar, and Fusion 9/Amnesia Sky Bar. TG SAFE said the FSSAI licences of the 11 establishments were suspended and they were directed to stop operations immediately in the interest of public health.
