Secretariat Employees Call for Chalo Vijayawada Protest

Village and Ward Secretariat employees in Andhra Pradesh have called for a ‘Chalo Vijayawada’ protest today demanding resolution of their long-pending issues. Their demands include completing probation declarations, reducing work pressure and withdrawing what they describe as illegal suspensions. Employees in several districts have submitted representations to officials seeking action on their demands.

Meanwhile, police authorities in several districts have stated that the proposed ‘Chalo Vijayawada’ programme has not been granted prior permission. Police warned that participation in unauthorised rallies or protests could invite legal and departmental action under the applicable rules. Employees have been advised to follow government orders and cooperate with the police.
