BCs Must Unite and Fight for Their Rights Inspired by Ailamma’s Struggle - Vivek

Minister Vivek Venkataswamy called upon members of the Backward Classes to draw inspiration from Chakali Ailamma’s struggle against the feudal system and unite to fight for their rights. The birth anniversary of Veeranari Chakali Ailamma was celebrated in Hyderabad at Ravindra Bharathi on Saturday under the aegis of the Telangana Backward Classes Welfare Department and the Ailamma Jayanti Celebration Committee. Addressing the gathering as chief guest, Vivek said a collective struggle was necessary to secure the enumeration of BCs in the population census. He said BC candidates were demonstrating significant representation in local-body elections and urged them to maintain the same unity in general elections to ensure greater participation in governance.

Government Adviser V. Hanumantha Rao assured that adequate reservations would be provided to BCs in the state. BC Commission Chairman Niranjan questioned why ministers and MLAs were hesitant to openly raise and condemn issues concerning injustice to BC communities. MP R. Krishnaiah, MLA Veerlapalli Shankar, former minister Basvaraju Sarraya, BC Welfare Association national president Jajula Srinivas Goud, BC Welfare Department Secretary Bala Mayadevi, celebration committee chairman Dasariraju Ajay Kumar, co-chairman Bangaru Babu, Vaddera Corporation chairperson Renuka and members of Chakali Ailamma’s family attended the programme.
