30-Minute War Sequence to Be the Highlight of ‘Varanasi’?

New reports and rumours surrounding Mahesh Babu and S.S. Rajamouli’s upcoming film Varanasi are generating interest among moviegoers. A massive war sequence lasting around 30 minutes is reportedly being planned as one of the film’s major highlights. The story is also said to extend beyond India and explore several locations across the world. Mahesh Babu is reportedly playing a character named Rudhra, although several details about the film are yet to be officially clarified by the makers.

There is also speculation that locations such as Varanasi, Antarctica, Africa and ancient Rome could play important roles in the story. Reports suggest that Rajamouli is combining action, adventure and mythological elements for the ambitious project. There has also been discussion about a reference to Lord Rama within the reported war sequence and speculation that the story could be presented as a single film rather than two parts. Varanasi is scheduled to release on April 7, 2027.
