The Godavari River is in spate following heavy rainfall across its catchment areas. Authorities have issued the first flood warning at Bhadrachalam after the river's water level reached 43 feet. Officials have instructed flood management teams to remain on high alert and follow the Godavari Flood Manual, as forecasts indicate a further rise in water levels.

At present, the Godavari is carrying an estimated 9.32 lakh cusecs of floodwater at Bhadrachalam, while the Sammakka Sagar Barrage is receiving an inflow of around 14 lakh cusecs. With water levels expected to rise further, officials indicated that a second flood warning may be issued shortly. Residents in low-lying and riverbank areas have been advised to remain vigilant.
