Former badminton player Gutta Jwala has revealed that she donated around 60 litres of breast milk to government hospitals in Hyderabad and Chennai during her first year after childbirth. She shared the information to raise awareness about the importance of donor milk for newborn babies.
She explained that even 100 ml of breast milk can nourish a very small premature baby for several days. Donor milk is safely screened and plays a crucial role in neonatal intensive care units, especially for infants who cannot receive their mother’s milk due to medical complications. It helps improve immunity and reduces life-threatening intestinal diseases in premature babies.
