Amid rising global tensions, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has embarked on a crucial five-nation tour from May 15 to 20, focusing on strengthening India’s energy security, economic partnerships, and strategic interests. The visit begins in the UAE, where Modi will hold talks with President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed to ensure uninterrupted oil supplies and expand strategic petroleum reserves through key agreements with ADNOC. The tour also includes the Netherlands, where discussions will center on semiconductors, green hydrogen, and water management, aiming to boost bilateral trade and technological collaboration.
In Sweden, the Prime Minister will engage with European leaders and industry experts to enhance cooperation in defence, artificial intelligence, and space research. A historic highlight of the tour is the Norway visit, marking the first by an Indian Prime Minister in 43 years, where Modi will meet Nordic leaders to attract investments in clean energy and infrastructure. The final leg in Italy includes talks with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to strengthen economic ties and review strategic action plans. This multi-nation tour is seen as a master plan to secure India’s energy needs and economic stability amid geopolitical uncertainties.
