Residents along the coastal city of Visakhapatnam were left in panic early this morning after sudden tremors shook the region. Mild earthquake vibrations were felt across several parts of the city, waking people from deep sleep and forcing many to rush out of their homes in fear.
Officials confirmed that the earthquake measured 4.5 on the Richter scale. Preliminary reports indicate that the epicenter was located in the Bay of Bengal at a depth of around 10 kilometers beneath the earth’s surface. Tremors were clearly felt in areas including Sagar Nagar, Tatichatlapalem, Madhavadhara, East Point Colony, Seethammadhara, Pedawaltair, and HB Colony. However, as the intensity remained moderate, no loss of life or property damage has been reported.
