Drug Control Raids Across AP

Drug Control officials conducted extensive inspections across Andhra Pradesh as part of a crackdown on violations in the sale and distribution of medicines. Inspections were carried out at 100 medical shops, with violations detected at 55 establishments. Officials seized a large quantity of tramadol injections and arrested five people. In Vegavaram of Jangareddygudem mandal, authorities reportedly detected large-scale use of tramadol injections. During the investigation, officials found that Sri Lakshmi Srinivasa Medical Agency had purchased 20,000 tramadol injections this year. They also seized 7,550 Tramadox injections that had allegedly been stored discreetly. The stock was reportedly supplied to medical shops and individuals in Jangareddygudem, Medyanapu Varigudem, Vegavaram, Kukunoor and other areas.

Officials also found that D. Roopa Peddinti Medical Agency had allegedly purchased 5,200 Tramec injections using fake bills. Bills reportedly showed the sale of 3,930 injections to a medical shop in Telangana, but Telangana authorities identified the transactions as fake. Further action has been initiated in connection with the alleged irregularities. Authorities have also begun proceedings to cancel the licences of Sri Lakshmi Srinivasa Medical Agency and D. Roopa Peddinti Medical Agency over the reported violations.
