Data Center Rush in Telangana Driven by Amazon Investment

Multinational companies are showing strong interest in setting up data centers in Telangana, following a major investment by Amazon. The company recently laid the foundation for its Amazon Web Services data center in Future City with an investment of ₹60,000 crore. Encouraged by this move, several global firms are exploring opportunities to establish data centers in Rangareddy district. Authorities from revenue and Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation have identified around 1,500 acres of land in Kandukur and Chevella mandals, including government and unused assigned lands, for acquisition after thorough field verification.

The government is prioritizing infrastructure and connectivity to support these developments. Officials are working on providing essential facilities such as uninterrupted power and water supply. IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu assured that all necessary resources would be ensured. The proximity of Chevella to the Hyderabad-Bijapur National Highway and the expansion of road connectivity, including the Greenfield Radial Road-1 being developed by Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority, are expected to significantly enhance transport access for upcoming data centers.
