Danam Disqualification Verdict to Be Delivered Soon..

The Telangana High Court is scheduled to pronounce its verdict on September 18 on petitions challenging the rejection of disqualification pleas against Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender. BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy and BJP Legislature Party leader Aleti Maheshwar Reddy had filed separate petitions challenging the Speaker’s decision.

A bench comprising Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh and Justice G.M. Mohiuddin heard detailed arguments from both sides and reserved its judgment on August 21. The verdict, initially scheduled for September 16, was postponed to September 18 as it was not ready. The petitioners argued that Danam Nagender’s move from the BRS to Congress and his subsequent contest from the Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituency on a Congress ticket constituted grounds for disqualification.

Meanwhile, the High Court has adjourned to October 6 the hearing of petitions challenging the Speaker’s rejection of disqualification pleas against several other MLAs, including Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Yadaiah, Kadiyam Srihari, Bandla Krishnamohan Reddy, T. Prakash Goud, A. Gandhi, Tellam Venkat Rao and Sanjay Kumar.
