Cyber Fraud Alert Over Indiramma Housing Scheme

Cybercriminals may attempt to exploit the Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) process linked to Indiramma housing beneficiaries by making fraudulent calls and circulating suspicious links, CP Sajjanar has cautioned. He urged beneficiaries not to trust callers claiming that paying ₹10,000 would secure them a house or creating panic by saying that the payment deadline ends the same day. Citizens have been advised to verify all information through official channels before making any payment or responding to such messages.

Sajjanar also warned people against clicking unknown WhatsApp links or downloading APK files and remote-access applications such as AnyDesk or TeamViewer at the request of strangers. Beneficiaries should never disclose Aadhaar information, bank account details, UPI PINs or OTPs to anyone calling in the name of the housing scheme or promising refunds. The advisory stresses that caution while handling unsolicited calls, links and payment requests can help prevent financial losses from cyber fraud.
