Congress Alleges Assigned Land at Jagadish Reddy’s Farmhouse

Congress representatives, including Bhongir MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy and government whip Adi Srinivas, alleged that the previous BRS government witnessed encroachments of government, assigned and inam lands as well as water resources. They said the ongoing fact-finding visits were aimed at bringing alleged land dealings involving BRS leaders and their families before the public. On Monday, a Congress delegation comprising MPs, MLAs and MLCs inspected the farmhouse area allegedly belonging to former minister and Suryapet MLA G Jagadish Reddy at Maddur in Rangareddy district. The Congress leaders alleged that the property covers around 50 acres in two survey numbers and that nearly 12 acres of it is inam land. They also alleged encroachment of water resources.

Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy questioned the increase in Jagadish Reddy’s declared assets, stating that he had shown assets worth Rs 12 lakh in his 2009 election affidavit and asking how they had grown substantially by the 2014, 2018 and 2023 elections. He demanded an inquiry into the land and urged the district administration to take over any inam land found to have been encroached upon and distribute it to eligible beneficiaries. MLA Mandula Samuel and Shadnagar MLA Veerlapalli Shankar also made allegations concerning land holdings and development works linked to Jagadish Reddy. MPs Balaram Naik and Suresh Shetkar, MLAs Naveen Yadav, Beerla Ilaiah, Bathula Laxma Reddy and Kumbham Anil Kumar Reddy, and MLCs Addanki Dayakar and Balmuri Venkat were among those who participated.
