Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed officials to transform Hyderabad into a clean and traffic-free city. On Monday, he held a review meeting with municipal officials at his Jubilee Hills residence to discuss various civic issues. He instructed officials to ensure that no garbage is left unattended anywhere in the city and that door-to-door waste collection takes place every day under continuous monitoring. He also called for strict action against those who neglect their duties. The Chief Minister directed officials to make special arrangements for the transportation of construction waste and coordinate with industrial area authorities to ensure proper garbage collection in industrial zones.
The Chief Minister also stressed the need to promote the use of treated water from sewage treatment plants (STPs) through green water tankers for construction activities, park maintenance, landscaping and gardening. He said using treated wastewater instead of drinking water would help conserve precious drinking water. He recalled that the Water Board had introduced services through 28 green water tankers from 19 STPs in the first phase and called for expanding the facility across GHMC, CMC and MMC limits. On traffic management, he directed officials to prepare plans for underpasses and elevated corridors wherever necessary to reduce congestion and ensure smoother vehicle movement at traffic signals. MP Vem Narender Reddy, Chief Minister's Secretary Manik Raj, HMDA Commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmed and Cyberabad Municipal Corporation Commissioner G. Srijana, among others, attended the meeting.
