

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu extended his greetings to handloom weavers on the occasion of National Handloom Day. He said the Andhra Pradesh government is committed to protecting and promoting the traditional handloom sector, which reflects India's rich cultural heritage. As part of this commitment, the government has launched the 'Nethanna Sevalo' scheme to support handloom families.
Under the scheme, financial assistance of ₹25,000 each will be provided to 71,536 handloom families, with a total outlay of ₹179 crore. The Chief Minister said the government is also supporting weavers through electricity subsidies and pension benefits from the age of 50. He appealed to everyone to work together to preserve the handloom tradition and strengthen the livelihoods of weavers.
